Bandits have invaded Angwar Danko village in Kakangi Constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, forcing abductees into forest.

Daily Trust gathered that a large number of bandits invaded the community around 6pm, on Wednesday, firing shots indiscriminately.

Men and women who were abducted by the attackers are currently being marched into the forest, according to witnesses.

Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, representative for Kakangi Ward in the State House of Assembly, confirmed the incident.

He stated that he had yet to receive full details regarding the number of villagers abducted but confirmed that it is in the dozens.

“I just received a call from the area informing me that dozens of my constituents have been abducted. The bandits have surrounded the village, and as we speak, they are still there, taking their victims into the forest. The situation is dire,” he said.

Dan Salio expressed concern, noting that most of the victims were men and suggesting that there could be casualties.

He emphasized the urgent need for authorities to deploy more security checkpoints in the area to restrict the movement of bandits.

Protesters, journalists, onlookers and passers-by scampered for safety during the shootout.

After normalcy was restored, the security operatives took turns to leave the area that they had cordoned off for hours.
The anti-graft agency is yet to comment on the reason behind the siege. Attempts to reach EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, proved futile as calls to his mobile phone were not answered. He had not replied a text message sent to him as at when filing this report.
However, there are indications that the move to arrest him is in connection with the alleged N84 billion fraud case against Bello by the anti-graft agency.

City have won their last three home matches against Real, and Wednesday's game is likely to be entertaining after their last five meetings produced a total of 23 goals.

"Games against City have always been spectacular. [Tonight] will be the same," said Ancelotti.

The Italian added that facing City again did not worry him.

"The only thing that will stop me sleeping is if I eat too much tonight," he said.

City striker Erling Haaland was singled out as a player who could give Real trouble at The Etihad.

"If we are talking about individuals, Haaland is one of the most dangerous players City have," said Ancelotti.

"He didn't appear much in the first leg, but Haaland could be one of the best strikers in the world right now. He is always dangerous."
